A document showing how The Beatles refused to play to segregated crowds has sold for $23,000 (£14,875) at auction.
The contract, signed by Brian Epstein, asked that the group "not be required to perform in front of a segregated audience".
Before a 1964 show at the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida, John Lennon was quoted as saying: We never play to segregated audiences and we aren't going to start now. I'd sooner lose our appearance money !!!
